Skinnygirl Tiki Punch

Personally, I’m a vodka girl myself but I’ll never turn down a good punch, especially during the summer. Rums blend particularly well with fruity flavors which makes them the basis for many island inspired cocktails. When making this drink, try and use a light rum. Dark liquor has more impurities than clear, and that’s a one-way ticket to hangover city. Plus vodka, white rum and gin contain around only about 55 calories per shot.


– 2 Fresh strawberries, sliced
– 1 ¼ ounces light rum
– 1 ounce orange juice
– 1 ounce mango juice
– Orange half-wheel, for garnish
– Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

Muddle the strawberries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add the rum, orange juice, and mango juice, along with ice. Shake well. Double-strain (using both the cocktail strainer and a small sieve) over fresh ice in a tiki glass. (A hurricane glass or goblet would work, too.) Garnish with a half-wheel of orange. You can also add a dusting of nutmeg on top, if you like.
