Chipotle Margarita

Ready to bring the heat? This is a fiery but refreshing take on the margarita, and trust me when I say that it is beyond.


– 1¼ ounces tequila infused with chipotle
– ½ ounce triple sec or other orange or citrus liqueur
– 2 ounces lime Sour Mix
– Splash of fresh lime juice
– Strip of orange peel or candied orange peel, for garnish


Combine the tequila, triple sec, sour mix, and lime juice with ice in a cocktail shaker and shake until well chilled. Strain over fresh ice in a margarita or pint glass. Garnish by dropping in a strip of orange peel.

Bethenny’s Tip: Infused tequilas look fancy, but they’re actually an amazingly easy way to add another layer of flavor to your cocktails. Combine your ingredients (slicing up anything large into smaller chunks) with clear tequila in an airtight container. Let them steep in a cool, dark place. Super spicy things like chiles only need a few hours. Then strain it into a new container and use it to mix up your favorite cocktail.
