I think you are doing a great job as a mommy Bethenny! I too grew up with a very strained relationship with my mom. And, I have 3 sisters. I decided at a very young age that I was going to be a more nuturing and loving mother when I had children. I have a son and a daughter. They are adults now. I was very conscious of the way I mothered them. I gave lots of hugs and kisses because I didn't get them growing up. My daughter and I (she is now 25) are best friends. We are extremely close. It is the same with my son and I (he is 23). We are a very very close little family. I don't speak with my mom anymore. I decided that her mental mistreatment was not worth it. But I used that as a learning experience for what not to do in bringing up my children. My kids turned out to be great, loving adults who I love to be around and they love to be around me! Life is great.

Bethany- B/c u keep it real, I wanted to share a story with you and the postive impact you have on lives even when you least expect it, last night my sister suffered a miscarriage at 17 weeks for twins...she has one son (my precious nephew). Early this morning, I read the article on people.com. "I have thought about other women more than myself," she says. "I can't believe what people go through if they can't even have the one. ... You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it." It was those wrods that helped get my sister through one of the most difficult mornings of her life.
Thank you! Both personally and professionally, I wish you all the best to you and your beautiful family.
