There is something about the winter that makes it a magical time to play outdoors. The crisp air and the fresh snow are invigorating—not to mention—a blast to play in.
It might not be snowing quite yet where you live, but if it is, here some games you should try out.
Snow Pyramid
Make teams of two and see who can build the largest snow pyramid made entirely of snowballs in 20 minutes.
Once the contest is over, use the snowballs for a fun (and safe) snowball fight!
Snow Ring Toss
Build several snowmen, of varying heights. Then, standing at a distance, take a hula hoop and attempt to toss is over the snowmen. The one with the most successful tosses wins!
Geometric Snowmen
Who says all snowmen have to be round? Try building a square snowman, a triangle snowman, heck, even a hexagon snowman. Get creative and then share your pictures in the comments below.
Strike Out
Stack a single-row pyramid of snowballs on a cardboard box. Then take turns throwing a snowball at the pyramid in the attempt to knock it over, much like the stacked bottles at a carnival.
Perfect Aim
Assign someone to hold a hula hoop up at a distance. Then take turns trying to throw a snowball through the hula hoop.
Snow Angelathon
See who can make the most perfectly formed snow angels in 2 minutes. (The trick is getting up without ruining the angel.)
Which Snow Pile?
While one person closes their eyes, another person will hide something (a glove, a handkerchief, a ball, etc.) in a pile of snow. They will then make 6-7 additional piles of snow nearby in order to confuse the player. The player opens their eyes and has only 3 chances to dig and find the object.
Get out there and have some winter fun. Soon it will be summer and building a sandman just isn’t the same.
