4 Ways To Boost Productivity On A Busy Workday

There are some workdays that are going to be much busier than others. The extra workload can be stressful, but if you can focus and use your time well, it will be a lot easier to manage your long list of to-dos. To get you in the right state of mind for those extra busy days, here are four things you can do you boost your productivity and get shiz done:

Make a plan. When you know ahead of time that you have a busy workday coming, spend some time the day before to get organized and make a plan. Then when it’s time to get to work the next day, you’ll be one step ahead because you’ll already know exactly what needs to be done.

Organize your to-do list. As you list out all the things that need to be done, group similar items together so you can get them done in the same timeframe. You’ll be much more productive if you’re able to focus on one task at a time.

Put a stop on multi-tasking. It might seem like you’re saving yourself time by tackling multiple things at once, but sometimes, this can slow you down. Focusing on too many things at once means you’re only partly engaged in each task. This can impact the quality of your work. It’s better to focus and do things once – the right way – than to waste time having to go back and correct mistakes that were made when you weren’t fully engaged.

Limit how often you check your emails. Constantly checking emails can be a big distraction because it interrupts your workflow. Also, what you’ll usually find in your emails are requests that will take time away from the things you’re working on. Instead of constantly checking your email, schedule specific times in the day to focus on managing your inbox and answering other requests.
