Bethenny’s Favorite Finds: Easy Weekly Skin Care Regimen
When it comes to my beauty regimen, like everything else, I want it streamlined. I like to have everything ready to go and easy to do, so I’m not wasting any time.
This is my weekly beauty regimen that only takes a few minutes. I hope you can get some inspiration from it, to streamline your own routine.
Exfoliating removes the dead layers of skin on your face so your skin care products can penetrate better and your face doesn’t get flaky. I also exfoliate knees and elbows in the shower. A body scrub or an exfoliating glove or mitt will work for this purpose, but if you use a glove or mitt, be sure to rinse it well after every use and hang to dry so it doesn’t grow bacteria.
Not only does exfoliating remove dead skin, but it also opens your pores. When I finish exfoliating my face, I like to apply a mask so the moisture can soak in. I leave it on for at least ten minutes, or preferably overnight.
Dry brushing is simply brushing your skin before you shower with a soft, dry brush to remove dead skin, increase your circulation, and distribute your skin oils. You should brush toward your heart (like brushing up your arms, up your legs, and down your chest). A good, thorough dry brushing once or twice a week will improve the health of the skin all over your body. You’ll be smoother and softer.
I live for lotion. I put it on after every shower, but about once a week, I make sure to fully moisturize everywhere. After you dry-brush and shower, or otherwise exfoliate your body, rub a good gentle body lotion all over you.
