Bethenny’s Favorite Finds: Organize Your Life
The new year is a time for fresh beginnings. You’ve set new goals, you’ve got a fresh mindset, and you’re ready to kill it in 2017. But before you get to that, you’ll need to make sure you’ve got a clean start. This means it’s time to get your life organized. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… If you aren’t organized, you’re going to waste so much time figuring out where things are or what you’re supposed to be doing. This is a bad habit you don’t want getting in the way of making this year your bitch.
Here are some of the things I use in my everyday life to stay organized so I can spend more time focusing on things that matter:
If you have a busy schedule, plan your day or week by jotting down your to-do lists or appointments into a planner. Having things written down and planned out is the first step to getting a handle on your life.
Zero Fucks Notebook
I’m always brainstorming or trying to think about what’s ahead for my business. Sometimes, inspiration comes out of nowhere and I need to write down my ideas before I forget. That’s why I like to keep a notebook with me at all times.
So much time is wasted running around looking for your wallet, keys, etc. What I like to do is have a catchall bowl near the entry of my home so I can put down all my things as soon as I get in the door. When it’s time to head out again, all the essentials are waiting for me to easily grab on my way out.
I love to label and use glass jars or containers to keep things organized in my pantry. It can be an inexpensive way make your pantry look great and it also helps you see exactly what you have and how much of it.
The drawers in your home can get disorganized quickly. I personally avoid this type of chaos by getting organizers for different drawers throughout my house where this might be a problem, like in the restroom, kitchen or bedroom. Having these organizers creates a specific place for all your little belongings.
Makeup is another one of those things that can get out of hand real quick. With all the different brushes and products, it’s important to have a structured way to store it all. I like to keep my brushes in brush holders, jars or old candles (use what you have) and products in makeup organizers so I can access things easily as I get ready.
