SHE may be a New York socialite, but Bethenny Frankel knows all about the far from glamorous world of horse training.
The Real Housewives of New York City reality TV star touched down in Sydney yesterday and headed straight for day one of The Championships at Royal Randwick.
Frankel’s father is American Hall of Fame horse trainer Bobby Frankel, ensuring she grew up around horses and racing.
“I love the Downton Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs element of racing.
“Growing up, I was on Downstairs side.
“Getting up at 5am, walking the horses, getting covered in mud and manure,” she said.
“Now I’m on the other side, wearing this beautiful Karen Gee dress.”
Frankel wasn’t the only one dressed to impressed in the glorious autumn weather.
In The Star marquee, a $3 million Cerrone headpiece boasting 88 diamonds and a whopping 122 carats took pride of place, with guests including Emma Freedman and George Maple ogling the exquisite piece.
