Did You Love Debbie's Jewelry? Buy It Here!
Miche Mozaix on Etzy.com

To pick up the pieces after her husband left her and her family, Debbie took a part-time job as a home healthcare nurse, and used her talent in crafts to start her own business.

About three years ago, Debbie started a jewelry-making business using mosaic tile, "Miche Mozaix." Her partners are her 21-year-old daughter, who is hoping to use the money they make to pay for her college education, and her 18-year-old autistic son.

Debbie's son is non-verbal, but displays an exceptional talent for cutting and designing tile. She wants to make this work for him, because this is his chance to work and do something that makes him proud and gives him a sense of accomplishment.

Today, Bethenny offered her some advice on how to grow her business, and now we're selling her jewelry here. Click here to purchase a piece for yourself!

I loved this segment! And I am a shopper of gifts that have meaning...from Toms, to Bead For Life, and now this! As such, I completely agree with your suggestion to change up the name and add something to the product, like a card, to explain about how involved her autistic son is in the creation of the jewelry. That way, when I gift the jewelry, I can include the info card and spread the story!

Love you Bethenny!

You suggested that Debbie change the business name to reflect the story behind the business. Would "He-art" be a good name to show that "He" is producing the "art" designs and that it represents "heart"?

Hello and hope all is well with you Bethenny. I love you.
I had another idea for Debbie's jewelry business. She can teach a class on the weekends for parents with children with special needs/Autism (the class can also be for aunts/uncles, brothers/sisters, grandparents, or anyone who wants to participate)on how to create their own mosaic pieces. The class can be for a couple of hours. It can be taught at an affordable price and part of the proceeds can go to any organization/charity for autistic children/adults. This can go far as an autistic adult teaching a younger autistic child how to create a mosaic piece. How did Debbie's son learn to create the pieces? Debbie taught him! Debbie's jewelry business can become a school for the autistic population. You never know!
