The Only 3 Bags You Will Ever Need
The only thing women seem to love just as much as shoes are bags. They're beautiful to look at, fun to wear, and with all of the great linings and secret compartments what's not to love? All of the space they take up, that's what! The truth is, the year is not 1960 and women no longer have to match their bag to their shoes so there's no reason to be storing a dozen of them in your closet! It's time to pull them all out and assess the situation. If we get down to the basics, there are really only three bags that every woman needs:

This bag goes with you to and from work, shopping on a Saturday, and a dozen places in between. It's going to get the most action, so if ever there was a piece to invest in, this is it. A lot of people think that black is the only way to go here, but I actually find a tan camel color to be just as versatile if not more. Don't be afraid of color either. If you look in your closet and see mostly black and gray, a bright red day bag might be just the pop of color your wardrobe needs. (To say that I am obsessed with this woven bag below is such an understatement! It is so chic and looks like it cost 10 times what it actually does!)

This bag serves one purpose and one purpose only: to make you look chic and effortless when you go out at night. It needs to be just big enough to hold your lip color, phone, keys, and a couple of business cards-- you never know who you will meet while out! Make sure its not so large or distracting that people are looking at your bag and not you. This bag, while a necessity, is not the main event.

The Simple Tote

This is the bag that I throw my wallet, phone and keys into when I am heading to yoga. I also take it with me to the grocery store so that I skip out on a plastic bag. I even take this bag on the plane with me now and pack my day bag in my suitcase because its lighter and can hold all of my books and magazines as well as my laptop. If you're still in school, this bag goes to class with you and if you are a mom it's what you reach for on your way to the park. Just because it's simple, though, doesn't mean it shouldn't also be chic.
