What do you think about or have ever been to Mezzaluna, La Bonne Soup, in New York and The Driver’s Seat in the Hampton’s? On our visit to New York last year, we ate at these places and found that they were amazing.
Tre Dici for Italian too! And their “private” steakhouse upstairs.
B, you have to add Magnolia Bakery! I am a personal trainer and I can justify there cupcakes any day! Moderation, moderation, moderation….
LaManda in White Plains, NY has unbelieveable Chicken Scarpiello. The interior is old school, no frills. The pizza is ridiculous…crust tastes like pie crust. Yum :0 Sounds like it could be like a Matteo’s but in Westchester! Try it!
I totally agree with Christine. LaManda’s Chicken Scarpiello is fantastic. So is their veal and chicken parm. I wasn’t so crazy about the pizza though.
crispo on 240 w 14th street is amazing! I am a complete foodie, and my meal was out of this world. brussel sprouts there are heavenly, and the atmosphere is rustic and homey.
I ate at Craft when I was visiting New York City. I think you absolutely right in your assessment. The steaks were amazing and I loved the a la cart sides. Their wine list was also really impressive. In addition, the service was impeccable. However, it is a little expensive which might be something to warn your readers about.
Great Thai Food – Kelley & Ping in Soho
Sandwiches – ‘wich craft … all over NYC.
B, You Rock! Congrats across the board! Love your approach to life…Even your cookbook is unique in that \Bethenny\ way. Which brings me to point….What are your favorite vegan restaurants? Red Bamboo? Sacred Chow? Caravan of Dreams? V Spot?….Fortunately there seem to be quite a few in NYC…including restaurants that have vegan offerings. If you know anyone who’s interested in opening up a good vegan restaurant in Saratoga Springs then send them our way! Ingredients are easy enough to find for home cooking, thankfully, but eating out? Nothing.
Thanks Bethenny! Smiles to Bryn…..Continued happiness and success…..
Hi Bethany.I see that Rosa Mexicano is one of your favorite restaurants. We have one here in L.A. Ca. At downtown Live. I had the Parmagrant Marg. And it was Delicious.I also had the Lobster Enchiladas.Yummo.Do you have a favorite restaurants in the Los Angeles area.
HEY B, I AGREE WITH YOUR CHOICES IN RESTAURANTS….GRIMALDIS YUMMY!!!!READY TO TRY THE BAKERIES YOU SUGGESTED. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US PEEPS.
Hey B, What about Greek/mediterranean food? Avra (141 East 48th St) is a great choice – the grilled, stuffed calamari is out of this world and Trata in Roslyn, Long Island yummy fresh fish and meze (appetizers)!!
Cafe Habana is the BEST! The place is so tiny and always packed (and yes, get the corn)!
I know this is going to sound stupid and touristy, but I absolutely love the Italian food at Carmine’s. For a loud, busy restaurant, you would think the food would be so so, but it’s really amazing and I’m Italian! The one on 44th Street is insanely hard to get into without a reservation though. Early lunch is better than dinner, or post show times!
Totally agree about Buttercup Bake Shop – I think these are the best cupcakes in the city, hands down beating Magnolia (which I believe is overrated). Buttercup has locations in midtown (2nd Ave in the 50s) and also one on West 72nd St. Must try the German Chocolate and PB&J cupcakes!
Buttercup is my absolute favorite cupcake/dessert shop in the world! They were my favorite treat when I lived in NYC and needed a break from studying for the NY Bar exam. I wish they shipped cupcakes. I begged them to send them to Boca Raton when I was pregnant. I got them for my NY baby shower-yummy! I am going to get them when I throw my baby’s 1st Birthday. Rosa Mexicana is my gold standard for Mexican. I also love Blockheads Burritos for delicious, inexpensive Mexican-they even have vegan burritos. If you go to the location on 52nd and 2nd, you can go to Buttercup across the street after! BTW, what is the name of the bakery you get the red velvet cake from for special occasions? It is the one you wanted to get your wedding cake from on the UES in the 90′s? Thanks.
Ok, Bethenny, back to the CAKE thing. I really related to how important the cake was for you while pregers…you live to eat…that’s all you can do!! Anyway, I am the one that is originally from Atlanta, GA. I live up here now but what I really miss is the unbelieveable cake place they had their called ” Piece of Cake” Every kind of cake they made was over-the-top fantastical!!!!! Especially the red velvet and carrot. And they made them fresh every day…I bet with your big status now you might be able to twist their arm…or better yet get their recipes and open one in NYC!!! I have fond memories of standing bare-foot and pregnant (and sometimes not pregnant!) in the kitchen with the fridge door open just ever so slightly swirling the fork around the icing and in my head saying ‘no one will even no I was here…
I didn’t notice a mention for Spice Market on 9th and 13th (?). We stayed at the Maritime last week with my sons and had a blast at dinner! The boys had their noodles and lobster and I had a ginger margarita. Oh yes mamacita was happy that night :0
Hey Bethenny, Congrats on your new life. I am enjoying living it too, thru the television. You make me laugh because I have the same sense of humor as you. We also seem to enjoy some of the same restaurants. Love, love looove, Angelo’s, Da Silvanna, and Il Mulino. Did you ever try, Accapella on the corner of Hudson and Chambers. Also on Chambers is Ecco. Two very good restaurants…. Enjoy…
Try Doris and Ed’s…Atlantic highlands…just a ferry ride away..
It truly is hard to find your \Sknnygirl Margarita\ no one seems to have it available nor online you can buy it.Could you send mean email message how to purchase it where it is available.Thank you.
S’Mac is the BOMB!!!!
the best mac and cheese ever!!!
